About me

I hate this pic. I need a new one.

It’s all about my why so let’s start there.

My why is to help people succeed, even in the smallest of ways. Succeeding makes people happy and as an ISFJ, it makes me happy that you’re happy.

Through 50+ years on this planet, I have learned and continue to learn from family, friends and strangers. Some of it good and some of it, err, less than that. I can’t help but feel a lot of this knowledge needs to be shared. My hope is that you consider the things I’ve shared. The goal is not for you to agree on things but to simply consider them. In a perfect world, you’ll benefit from these ideas as I have.

So what’s this ISFJ thing I refer to?

Have you ever done one of those personality tests? If not, I can’t suggest doing one strongly enough. I did one around 2000 and then another about 2014. For me and I suspect a lot of people, the results were pretty scary. Dead-on scary. I continually wonder how a 50-question test can nail my personality completely. But that’s for someone else to explain.

My first test came from Keirsey and the second was done over at 16personalities.

I am an ISFJ (borderline E).

This was not only proven(?) by both of these tests but also confirmed pseudo-analytically by all my friends. When I showed my friends the description of an ISFJ, they pretty much confirmed that the results matched me way too accurately. More importantly, it explains so much about who I am and more specifically, what this site represents.

From the 16personalities test, a few common notes standout:

“ISFJs are the universal helpers, sharing their knowledge, experience, time and energy with anyone who needs it, and all the more so with friends and family.”

“The best part is, ISFJs have the practical sense to actually do something with all this altruism. If mundane, routine tasks are what need to be done, ISFJs can see the beauty and harmony that they create, because they know that it helps them to care for their friends, family, and anyone else who needs it.”

So that’s me. Can’t really say it any better than that. If you want to know the silly stuff, then I’ll simply add that I read a lot about technology, drink more than enough Narragansett beer, watch my fair share of movies, am addicted to podcasts, and am terrified of heights.
